This is g's favorite story from "What do People Do All Day?" -- Building A New Road.
Well, after G had made three laps around the Sports Basement on this yellow Jamis "Hot rod" my resistance was pretty much ground down to nothing. He rides great and is very concerned about safety too! My kinda kid.
Here's Gunnar doing his ABCs, with a little (signed) prompting from Jen.
Two cute pics.. First one from our way back from thanksgiving down at my brother's place in Morro Bay.
I took Gunnar down to the trainyard the other night to watch them refuel and service the Caltrain baby bullets.. He was, needless to say, pretty excited.
Whups, I haven't posted in a few days. Been too busy to blog.
Things got hectic at work but they ended up all to the good. My boss moved on to a different company and I got promoted into his position, which is pretty exciting.
Good bike work last weekend too, I went on a quest to rebuild the hubs on my road bike because they were feeling sluggish and gritty. Sure enough the front cones were pretty badly pitted and our road trip to Utah with the bike on the roof had not been kind to the bearing grease. Big Chris at The Off Ramp came through with some suitable replacement cones and Jerry over at Shaw's sold me the only Phil Wood product I can actually afford-- a tube of their nice medium-weight green grease.
Also over the long weekend, HBM and I rebuilt hexogen, our main shell/web/mail server onto a mirrored pair of new 200G Maxtor drives (57 bucks at Fry's! Holy crap that's cheap.) and CentOS 4.4. It might feel a bit faster or something, not sure -- but it is definitely nice to be rid of the botched RH9->RHEL3.3 upgrade I did that left two conflicting copies of almost everything in the rpmdb.
To round things out, here is perhaps the cutest picture ever taken of Gunnar, with Alexia at Bonfante Gardens.
